Terms and Conditions
This page is intended to give you an overview of the terms and conditions to which you will be bound to agree should you make bookings or purchases with South Coast Mindfulness. Please read through terms and conditions carefully before making a booking.
General course policies
1. Confidentiality
South Coast Mindfulness takes the confidentiality of those who come to our events and courses seriously. Participant information shared prior to and during the event is kept completely confidential (except as otherwise required by law).
From time to time, participants may share personal information during a group session. We expect all participants to respect each other’s confidentiality and treat any information shared in our events as confidential.
2. Materials
Any recorded or written material included or presented as part of the event or a course is protected by intellectual property laws, including copyright laws and may not be used without obtaining prior written permission from South Coast Mindfulness and the respective authors.
3. Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your booking more than 14 days before your booked event, you will receive a full refund deducted with the deposit. We regret that cancellations 14 days or less before the booked event cannot be refunded. Deposits are always non-refundable.
When the cancellation or postponement of an event is due to the decision made by South Coast Mindfulness, you are entitled to a full refund. Alternatively, your payment can be applied as a credit towards a future course. This will be subject to availability.
Your refund will be processed after your confirmation on the method of refund. The refund will be processed as soon as possible but latest in 48 hours from receiving the payment details from you.
Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction course (8-week Mindfulness Course)
1. Booking and Payment
Your place is confirmed on the Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction course on:
The receipt of completed booking form
Completed or scheduled course orientation
Confirmed payment (either the deposit or the full payment)
Upon receiving your booking form, I will arrange a short conversation with you to orientate you to the course, and to go through any questions you have before the final confirmation of your booking.
Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction Course can be paid via Paypal (also for credit and debit card payments) or by BACS transfer. A £50 deposit is requested at the time of the booking. The deposit will secure your place, with the balance due one week before the start of the course. Alternatively, you can pay the course in full at the time of the booking.
2. Attendance
In some circumstances, it may not be advisable to engage in MBSR training at a particular time in your life (e.g., current episode of depression, recent significant bereavement, trauma, or amid other considerable life changes). In some cases, I may ask you to consult your GP or another health professional first, so that we can make sure you will benefit from the course and it will not be too demanding for you. If you end up not taking the course at that time, I will return you the course fee, including the deposit.
Some practices on Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction course include movement (gentle yoga and stretching), standing or lying down. Movement is safe for everyone to do, as long as own consideration is applied. If there is any doubt, I ask you to do the practice caution and leave any postures out that do not feel suitable. Please take up any concerns with me so that we can find alternative movement and postures. If you have an existing physical health condition, I recommend consulting a health professional whenever unsure whether an activity is safe, before engaging into it.
The minimum group size at Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction course is 5 persons. The maximum group size depends on the situation-based factors and will be determined per event by the teacher.
3. Cancellation Policy

All other events
This section applies to all other events delivered by South Coast Mindfulness that is not a Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction course.
1. Booking and Payment
For shorter events (up to 6 hours long), where advance booking is requested, your place is confirmed on the receipt of payment (if payment upfront has been requested). Drop-in meditation groups do not require advance booking, unless specifically stated in the event description.
The full class fee is payable at the time of the booking unless the event has been informed to be payable on the arrival (note: face-to-face events only).
